The printer is an essential PC peripherals. Most printers use a PC or a Centronics parallel interface.
On the PC, the interface is a female connector 25 pin D type, the parallel interface to send the eight bits of data simultaneously, where the channel strobe tells the printer whenever the characters to be read. For the reading of the parallel interface decreases, the printer reads the data byte, then acknowledge signal is used to notify the computer that the interface is ready to grow again.
Other signals are used to inform the PC when the interface is active or busy, an error has occurred or out of paper and others.
